Her "dad", the one that HAD to have a pug, had always wanted a pug, left her behind with me when he told me over the phone (yes, after 12+ years of marriage) that he was leaving. That was 2017. It was the best thing that could've happened to me, honestly. He also left behind 3 other dogs -Jackson, Homer and Cooper. I have since met someone absolutely amazing and we've been together over 3 years.
On July 20, 2019, Sitka crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. Her back legs weren't working very well anymore and she was unable to control her bladder or bowel movements. My bossy little diva just wasn't herself anymore, and she let me know she was ready.
My mom, my biggest cheerleader and Sitka's biggest fan (besides me!), passed away on June 9, 2021. I miss her every single day, but I know that Sitka was waiting for her Granny to give her kisses and take her spot in her lap.
I had debated on taking the blog down, but I've decided to keep it, so I can look back and remember the tiny little girl that made me fall in love with pugs, and all dogs. She was truly the best dog I could've asked for. Homer is older now, so I'm sure it won't be long until I have to make another tough decision. 😢
